Mission Statement

Established in 1971 as the Southwest Community Council (SWCC), Citizens of Pigtown (COP) focuses on empowering community members to actively engage in public safety, work together for a greener and cleaner neighborhood, and act as a guide for residents to navigate and utilize the neighborhood’s resources. COP also works to link youths, seniors, local businesses, developers and residents in the creation of a brighter future for our neighborhood. COP works to coordinate communications  and cooperation between city officials and community partners to accelerate, advance, and improve the development and growth of Pigtown.
